Description

Enjoy peaceful green surroundings here, bordered by woods and meadows, while still benefiting from easy access to Mechelen and the nearby village centre.

Looking for a charming home with a story to tell? This 1930 villa – with windows, stained glass and interior details reflecting the Art Deco era – was later extended with a vintage 1970s bungalow-style sleeping wing. Those who appreciate authentic features will discover a wonderful renovation opportunity.

Covered entrance porch with original tiles. Living room with original wooden flooring, beautiful stained glass and a wood-burning fireplace with warm air circulation. Entrance hall with guest toilet. Separate storage cellar and integrated garage.

The dining room with stunning natural stone flooring connects to the kitchen, extended in the 1980s, and to the sun-drenched conservatory beyond. The elegant library – or perhaps your future playroom? – links the original home to the 1970s night wing with office/bedroom and three children’s rooms. Upstairs in the original house are two exceptionally charming bedrooms with built-in wardrobes and a bathroom.

The crowning feature? A magnificent garden with a separate outbuilding of approx. 100 m² at the rear – originally used for poultry breeding, later transformed into a super-cool clubhouse with garage. Soon your new studio, home office or pool house?

owner speaks out

This house became our family home in 1958, when our parents left Brussels to settle in Rijmenam. Its construction year – 1930 – was also the birth year of our parents, which made them feel even more connected to the house. With its high ceilings, beautiful wood panelling and warm atmosphere, this was never just a house, but a true home full of character and wonderful memories.

Every corner of this house brings us back to our childhood. So many memories! The enormous garden made our youth even more special. Playing hide-and-seek in the woods, climbing trees, playing badminton until the last blackbird stopped singing, and counting stars at night in the still-warm grass… We had a wonderful childhood here. In autumn, pinecones crackled beneath our feet and later warmed the fireplace in the wonderfully cosy living room.

The amazing clubhouse first served as our play paradise, and later became the gathering place for all our friends, where we rehearsed with our little band, organised our first parties, and enjoyed countless unforgettable summer evenings around campfires and barbecues.

To us, this house will always remain a place full of life, freedom and warm memories. We hope the new owners will experience just as much happiness and as many beautiful moments as we did in this exceptional place where unforgettable memories are created naturally…
